The home opener of the 1998-99 season was a chance to show the fans that this was indeed the new Tampa Bay Lightning. They didn't do that and ended up losing 2-0. Tommy Salo got the shutout for the Isles who extended their shutout steak against the Lightning to four. Bad game pretty much.
